Chadi leads the Asia-Pacific Cybersecurity practice of Wavestone, a global advisory company. For over a decade, he has helped companies assessing their risk and maturity levels, and designing associated solutions. He has a focus on information security to support innovative technologies (Big Data, Internet of Things, Cloud computing…) as well as prevention and reaction against cyberattacks (Incident Response, Red Team approaches…).

 
Mr. Laurie Freeman

Laurence (Laurie) is the Director of Resilience for SPS, a Security and Risk Management Consultancy established in 1991 which operates worldwide. He is responsible for developing plans, training programmes and operational delivery to large corporate and media organisations.

Laurie is a Certified Protection Professional and Associate Member of the Business Continuity Institute, holding a Masters in Terrorism Studies, and a BSc (Hons) in International Studies. He is an authorised trainer on a UK Government endorsed training programme, which is particularly focused on training counter terrorism awareness in “soft target” (‘crowded areas’). With extensive strategic, tactical and operational experience Laurie aims to assist in protecting employees, contractors, visitors and your business (both in a physical and brand and reputational sense) across corporates and the business world generally. Laurie has submitted well received advisory documents to the UK Government regarding his analysis on UK government counter terrorism frameworks.

Prior to joining SPS, Laurie was Director of Crisis Management and Business Continuity, for a major Dax 100 company, with responsibility for over 50,000 employees, across a wide range of specialist areas which included Crisis Avoidance, Travel Security, and Horizon Scanning and Intelligence. Laurie developed and delivered a comprehensive award winning program which exceeded industry standards as judged by external peers.

Laurie has worked across all aspects of security: This commenced with military service as a Royal Marine Commando for over 7 years and then over 7 years as a Police Officer specialising in surveillance and covert test-­purchase drugs buying.

Entering the private security industry in 2003, he has worked at strategic, tactical and operational levels;; as a consultant, close protection operative in hostile environments including Iraq;; and as the Operations Manager for the UK FCO and the International Stabilisation and Rehabilitation Team in Libya (2011). As a trained ship security officer Laurie has worked extensively on counter terrorism and counter piracy in various geographical areas. Laurie has developed comprehensive security frameworks for media corporations at major sporting events, and high net worth and significant personalities across the world.

 
Mr. Tyn van Amelsfoort

Tyn holds a Bachelor degree in Logistics Management and started his career in 2004 when he joined Acer at the EMEA head office in Switzerland. At Acer he was responsible for claims management, loss prevention and security management.

In November 2007 he moved to Shanghai to establish loss control programs with McLarens Young International, a loss adjusting, surveying and claims handling firm

In October 2010, Tyn joined TNT Express and became the Greater China Security Training and Solution Manager and was also responsible for (aviation) security, investigations, export controls and business continuity for all facilities in Hong Kong which include offices, depots, warehouses and the regional aviation hub as well as the Gateways in Mainland China.

Currently Tyn works for Panalpina as Regional Head of Security & Customs for Asia Pacific with responsibility for all aspects of security, except cyber security. Tyn also leads the Customs Competence Center for the region.

In Hong Kong Tyn also contributes his time to the ASIS International chapter as Chairman. Regionally he volunteers as Incident Information System (IIS) manager and as trainer for the Transported Asset Protection Association (TAPA) Asia Pacific chapter.

Willem A. Hoekstra M MBA AFBCI BCCE started his career with ABN AMRO bank in 1998, running Management Accounting and other COO projects. He holds an MBA, a Dutch master’s degree in Communication Science, and a Propedeuse degree in Economics.
In 2001, he engaged with Business Continuity Management for the first time. He has since run BCM programs for Head Office as well as regional environments, consecutively at ABN AMO, RBS, Societe Generale and currently Nomura.
